Magellan Maestro 4250 Installation Instructions

The following Magellan Maestro 4250 Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

Magellan Maestro 4250 Battery

1. To begin turn your Magellan Maestro 4250 over and remove the 4 rubber caps to reveal the 4 four screws.

2. Remove the four screws on the back.

3. Using the pry tool carefully pry apart the front of the device.

4. Disconnect the ribbon cable by prying up the plastic retainer.

5. Remove the 2 screws securing the circuit board.

6.Pry off the circuit board gently.

7. Pry the original battery up and disconnect the original battery.

8. Replace the original Magellan Maestro 4250 Battery with one from BatteryShip.com and connect the new battery.

9. Replace the circuit board and screw the circuit board back in place.

10. Connect the front cover to the circuit board.

11. Close the case and turn the Magellan Maestro 4250 over on its face.

12. Replace the 4 screws and the rubber caps.

13. Charge your new Magellan Maestro 4250 Battery for 4 hours.

Palm Tungsten E Battery Installation Instructions

The following Palm Tungsten E Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

Palm Tungsten E Battery

1. Make sure your Tungsten E is off.

2. Remove the four screws on the back of the PDA using the included Torx T5 screwdriver. They will be located at the four corners of the device.

3. Once the screws have been removed, GENTLY pry open the Palm case starting on either side using the included plastic flathead screwdriver or any small flathead screwdriver. Note that there will be tabs holding the case together, and each one will have to be released. Pry all around the device, releasing each tab until the back cover comes open completely.

4. Lift off the back case of the Tungsten and set it aside for reassembly. Make sure that you are grounded before coming into contact with the Tungsten’s internal parts.

5. Note the location and orientation of the original battery within the device. You will see two wires (red and black) connecting the battery to the motherboard.

6. Use your soldering iron on a low setting to soften the area where the old battery’s wires are connected to the motherboard. BEFORE DOING THIS, note the order of the wire colors and which area each color was originally soldered to. When the metal has been softened, gently remove the original battery’s wires.

7. Remove the original battery from the battery compartment, using the plastic flathead to assist if needed. Be very careful not to bend or break the battery as you remove it.

8. Remove the protective tape from the end of the new battery. Remove the black and red insulation from the ends of the wires to about 1 centimeter up. This can be done with wire strippers, a razor, or small scissors. Be VERY CAREFUL not to damage the wires.

9. Taking care not to overheat the internal parts of the Tungsten, solder the new battery wires by color into the same locations that the original wires were soldered. Place the new battery into the battery compartment.
Make sure that the hold switch is aligned correctly, then press the back cover of the Palm on over the new battery and screw the four screws back in. FULLY CHARGE your new battery before use. (Allow at least three hours).

10. If you happen to get an error regarding an invalid unique ID that tells you to do a reset after charging the battery, the reset will work and will restore your Tungsten E if you press the reset button on the back of the unit while holding down the power button at the top. The device will ask if you want to erase everything. You should answer “yes.” Once the reset is done, you can sync the unit with the backup to restore your data.

11. Our tools fit the majority of Palms, but some devices may have different screws installed for various reasons. If our tools do not fit your device, you may have the appropriate tool in a tool kit you already own. You can also check your local hardware or electronics store if you do not have the right tool at home.

Garmin Nuvi 265 Battery Replacement Instructions

The following Garmin Nuvi 265 Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

Garmin Nuvi 265 Battery

1. Garmin has hidden the first 2 screws underneath the Nuvi's label. Remove the lable to reveal the 2 screws.

2. Remove the two screws.

3. Using the pry tool sepearte the Garmin nuvi working your way around – this will release the power button cover – remove the button cover.

4. Remove the three screws securing the circuit board.

5. Carefully lift up the circuit board to reveal the battery's wire and connector.

6. Disconnect the original battery.

7. Use the pry tool to lift up the original battery. The original battery is held in place by an adhesive. After you remove the original battery you may need to add some more adhesive to hold your new battery in place. Double sided tap can do the trick.

8. Place the new Garmin Nuvi 265 battery from Batteryship.com into the battery compartment and connect the battery into the socket you removed the original from.

9. Replace the circuit board to its original position and screw back in.

10. Reposition the power button cover

11. Gently snap the device shut.

12. Screw the 2 screw back into the casing of the device.

13. Place the label back to its orginal postion to cover the 2 screws and charge the Nuvi for at least 4 hours.

TomTom Go 910 Battery Replacement Instructions

The following TomTom Go 910 Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

TomTom Go 910 Battery and replacement kit

1. Begin by turning your TomTom face down and lifting the rubber ends to access the 4 screws on the back of your TomTom Go 910.

2. Next using the pry tool carefully lift off the grey plastic cover/frame from your TomTom.

3. Next remove the black plastic housing from the base of your TomTom.

4. Now remove all 6 screws from securing the circuit board. 2 of the screws will under the GPS receiver chip therefore after you remove the first 4 you will need to gently unseat the GPS receiver chip to access the final 2 screws.

5. Now using your pry tool carefully lift up the circuit board. You will not be able to completely lift the circuit board off as there will be 2 connectors holding the board to the base of the unit. You will need to detach these 2 connectors first – one of the connectors is your battery.

6. After the connectors have been detached turn the TomTom over and press in the screen clips (these clips hold screen in place – pressing them in will release the screen) so you can lift the screen using the pry tool.

7. Once the screen is separated you will see that a gold ribbon is connecting the screen to the board so be careful not to tear that ribbon.

8. Next remove the 2 black plastic clips on either side of your TomTom – these clips are held in by 1 screw and hold the TomTom's harddrive in place.

9. Now lift the hard drive out of it compartment and set aside.

10. Next remove the original battery (note how connector wire is) and replace the battery with a new TomTom Go 910 Battery Replacement from www.BatteryShip.com.

Now we need to reverse our steps…

11. After your new battery is in place reattach the 2 connectors back to your circuit board. The battery connector is connected to the left socket.

12. Return the harddrive to its compartment.

13. Replace the 2 black plastic clips on either side of your TomTom.

14. Put the grey metal/plastic screen frame on to the screen and snap the frame and screen back into place.

15. Replace the circuit board and screws.

16.Seat the GPS receiver chip and replace the screws.

17. Place your GPS unit into the black plastic housing.

18. Snap the grey plastic cover onto your TomTom

19. Replace the 4 screws onto the back of your TomTom and cover ther screws with the rubber flaps you pulled off in step 1.

20. Charge your TomTom Go 910 for 4 hours.

TomTom One XL330S Battery Replacement Instructions

The following TomTom One XL330S Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

TomTom One XL330S Battery

1. Begin by prying the bottom edge of the gray plastic case downward, which allowed the silver bezel lower edge to be popped up a little. This frees the tabs on the bottom of the bezel.

2. Next slide the bezel downward to release the tabs on the sides and top.

3. Now remove the 4 philip screws.

4. Next using the pry tool lift open the metal frame that holds the display assembly (it appears also to be part of the antenna). The grey rubber bushing stays behind on the display. It clips under two plastic tabs at the top.

5. After the metal fram is removed lift out the display unit. Be careful to not completely seperate the display unit from the back casing as it is connected to the main board by a flexible conductor strip. The connector on the main board is latched by the light gray bracket (or locking bar).

6. Next disconnect the locking bar using a small flathead screwdriver.

7. Next pull the conductor strip up to loosing it so that it slides right out of the connector.

8. Next remove three phillips head screws which are in the holes that look like donuts. Two on top, one near the bottom.

9. Next pull the main circuit board out, starting at the bottom. There is a locating pin near the USB connector that needs to be worked loose. Then pull the speaker and battery cables from their connectors on the main board.

10. By now you should be seeing the battery. It is glued in place. Pry off the old battery and insert the new battery.

11. Retrace all your steps to reassemble the TomTom One XL330S and charge your new battery.

TomTom One XL Battery Replacement Instructions

The following TomTom One XL Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

TomTom One XL

1. Begin by laying the TomTom One XL on its face and remove the four Torx size screws from rear using a proper Torx bit.

2. Next remove the SD Chip from its slot.

3. Next – starting near to the top, carefully insert the pry tool (or a thin blade knife), between one side of the black back cover and the silver front to a depth of NO MORE than 3 to 4mm. Start to pry the back cover away. Continue working down the side. Repeat for the other side. If necessary also priy at the center of the top. The rear black cover will be released. Take care not to pull it away, as there are two sets of wires with miniature connectors, connecting the battery and loudspeaker on the back cover to the main unit.

4. Next gently disconnect the two small connectors making a note of which plug goes in which socket and which way round. (usually loudspeaker is the upper one with red wire upwards and the battery the lower one with the red wire downwards. A sma;; pair of pliers may be helpful. The back cover can now be removed away from the main unit. Lay the main unit down with screen facing downwards.

5. The battery is secured in the battery recess with a very sticky pad underneath. using the pry tool lift the battery out (remember the battery is held on by an adhesive so you will need to work here a little). Gradually pull the battery away working from side to side. Don’t rush this or damage to the back cover could occur. Retain the sticky pad for reuse, replacing it in the recess.

6. Push the new battery into the recess making sure the wire leads exits the recess at the bottom (loudspeaker side) corner.

7. Carefully reconnect the loudspeaker and the new battery plugs to the main unit the correct way round.

8. To replace the back cover, hook the USB connector into the bottom of the back cover, then making sure the two leads don’t become trapped, press the side with the aerial socket into place and then the other side. Replace the Torx screws. Insert the SD Card.

9. Charge your battery for a few hours.

iPod Nano 1st Gen Battery Replacement Instructions

The following iPod Nano 1st Gen Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

iPod Nano 1st Gen Battery

1. Begin by turning off your iPod Nano. Engage the Hold switch so it doesn't turn on
while you're working on it and ground yourself to discharge any static electricity. In addition be sure to have all the tools provided in the tool kit.

2. Next hold the Nano flat, with its face up, and insert the flat pry tool between the metal back and the acrylic lip
of the iPod, a few centimeters from the top right side of the iPod, in order to create a space large enough to insert the other pry tool (or other end of pry tool).

3. Now insert the pry tool and run it around the edge of the iPod, in either direction. As you move all the way around, the metal back will separate from the front.

4. Next Flip the iPod over so the metal back is face up.

5. Gently remove the back cover.

6. Cut the wires connecting the old battery to the iPod. Make the cut close to the battery, so you have room for error.

7. Remove the old battery.

8. Examine your new battery. You will see 3 very thin wires coming from the battery. The last ¼ inch or so of each wire is already stripped (that is, the insulation is removed). You need to strip off an additional ½ inch or so. But be very careful not to cut the wires. A wire stripper is best here, otherwise use a sharp razor knife or small scissors.

9. Strip the last ½ inch off each of the three wires coming from the iPod.

10. Insert the battery in the iPod. You will now have a total of 6 wires: 3 from the iPod and 3 from the battery. Match up the colors, and using tweezers, twist together the pairs of wires that have the same color. Put a bit of ordinary scotch tape around each pair to hold the twist tie together.

11. Lay the wires flat on the main board, making sure none of the exposed parts of the wires are touching the
main circuit board.

12. Snap together the two parts of the iPod.

13. Charge your new battery for 4+ hours and turn it on.

Garmin Nuvi 670 Battery Replacement Instructions

The following Garmin Nuvi 670 Battery Replacement Instruction guide can be used for the following models:

Garmin Nuvi 670

If you purchased your Garmin Nuvi 670 Battery from BatteryShip.com, you’ll also receive a tool kit that can be used to help open the Garmin Nuvi.

1. Begin by laying your Nuvi face down and lift open your receiver.

2. Once the receiver is lifted open you will see 2 screws on the back of your receiver that will need to be removed.

3. Once the screws are removed you will be able to pry open the receiver and locate the black plastic spring cover at the base.

4. Using a sharp object press into the spring cover (inward) to release the spring that secures the receiver.

5. Gently unfasten the receiver and remove the spring to reveal the 2 screws that holds the Garmin Nuvi together (the yellow ribbon cable should remain attached).

6. Remove the 2 screws with screwdrivers provided in your battery replacement kit you received from BatteryShip.com.

7. Carefully open the Garmin using your pry tool (you will be separating the Nuvi case until it snaps open)

8. Once sepearted shift the upper portion of the Garmin to the side to reveal 2 screws.

9. Remove the screws and gently lift the circuit board with the pry tool.

10. Once the circuit board is lifted you will first see 2 white (plastic) connectors with wires leading out. Remove these connectors by pulling them out. One of the connectors is the old battery.

11. Open up (or separate the Nuvi).

12. Remove the old battery.

13. Install the new Garmin 670 Battery from BatteryShip.com.

14. Reattach the 2 connectors.

15. Replace the circuit board and screws.

16. Gently snap the Garmin Nuvi shut.

17. Replace the 2 screws you removed in step 6.

18. Return the spring to its original position and snap the receiver in place.

19. Replace the screws on the back of the receiver.

20. Close the receiver and charge your battery for 4+hours
